Less personal than psychodrama, it focuses on collective role aspects and issues. As illustrated in Sociodrama: Who’s in Your Shoes? 2 nd ed., co-authored by Dr. Garcia, this workshop will show you how to structure and facilitate a sociodrama. You will have hands-on practice directing sociodrama enactments and experiencing how to keep the contract clearly sociodramatic. These ongoing sessions present sociometry, psychodrama, spontaneity-creativity theory and role theory. Trainees learn the theoretical substructure of psychodrama, sociodrama, and group psychotherapy. They will also practice techniques for use in their field of interest. Trainees have the opportunity to experience and learn about the roles of group member, auxiliary ego, protagonist, and director.

* All training hours can be credited toward certification by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy.
